Mimice is a small typical Mediterranean place with mild climate, crystal clear sea and famous long pebble beaches. Located on the Omis Riviera, in the center of the Adriatic coast, just 11 km away from Omis, 22 km from Makarska and 35 km from Split. Mimice writes its history over more than three centuries, evidenced by the monument in the old part of the village, near the church St. Roko, who is the patron saint of Mimice, also surrounded with sculptures that were made thanks to the hard work of Mladenka Mimica who founded the " Art Colony Mimice ".

From 1990 the Art Colony Mimice started with projects, various projects gathered various artists who made a series of paintings that were given to the church St. Roko as a kind of votive offering. Later on sculptors gathered from seven countries who made their works in the stone from Brac. The aesthetic values of these sculptures enriched Mimice with new symbolic attributes permanently changing the landscape and leaving a strong message. The works were placed all around Mimice returning back to the nature they originated from. Later projects gathered eleven female artists that made paintings, mosaics and sculptures. The Art Colony Mimice continues with its work..

The inhabitants, friends and guests of Mimice, that spend every free moment here, are aware of the beauty of its landscape with thick pine forests, vineyards, olive groves... Mimice offers a wholly different range of possibilities, like hiking, running and cycling on macadam roads just below the Dinara mountain surrounded by beautiful nature.

From spring, local people organize excursion to the top of the Kosmatica Mountain that is near Mimice; boat excursions to the nearby island of Brac and the Vruja Bay, a well known water source under the sea; theme nights with music , concerts and shows in the old part of the village; grape picking in September; Fisherman's Nights on the waterfront where you can taste an excellent fish stew.

In Mimice you can find a supermarket, post office, exchange office, gift shop, fruit stand, along with other services. Mimice offer a large selection of gastronomic facilities such as pizzerias, restaurants along the coast and perhaps the most interesting offer is a seafood restaurant in the old part of the village called "Carevi Dvori", which has a long family tradition, offering a large selection of fish dishes, roasted on a grill in front of you.
